Sisters at Watarru - Violet and Teal on Blue (Cotton) 50cm Clothes The seeds are still collectedThis design by Noreen Dixon depicts the story of two female ancestors in the Watarru area of South Australia two sisters fleeing a man who pursues them, hiding in rockholes and caves amid the sandy desert plains. The younger sister is pregnant; the large concentric circles represent the design painted onto pregnant women's bellies for ceremony. The two smaller circles connected by strong lines represent the chest paint of the older sister, who is
